Catherine, couldn’t return to school after COVID. For more than four years, she worked as a street vendor, facing constant harassment from men touching and groping her.

Overwhelmed when man tried to assault her, she found refuge with a group of women sitting under a tree. This is where one of our Community Mentors met her, listened to her story and connected her with our programme.

Today, Catherine is back in school with dreams of becoming a teacher.

Childhood should be filled with dreams, laughter and possibilities. Yet for many girls in the slums of Kampala, growing up is often overshadowed by fear, trauma and lack of hope.

That’s why our programmes, designed specifically with girls-for girls, are crucial.

We provide vital support that empowers them to overcome the challenges they face.

We need your help to keep girls like Catherine in school.

Whilst we work really hard to secure funding for all our programmes, it’s really only through individuals like you that we are able to support girls to go back to school.

We feel really lucky that The Coles-Medlock Foundation also believe in the importance of this project and have given us another matched funding grant.
