Magic Lantern is back...live and direct from Kampala!
This Saturday get practicing your L’uganda because our amazing friends at Magic Lantern Film Club are going to be simultaneously screening an awesome night of magic film in Bristol AND Kampala...and we’ll be Skyping each other - woo hoo!
Our kids in Kampala (and Kerry) are already getting excited about seeing their friends from the UK on the big screen.
Both Screenings are part of the awesome Scalarama Film festival – a month long celebration of cinema all over planet earth.
The Magic Lantern Team tell us that because of security restrictions and the intimacy of this venue there are only 35 tickets available for this event in Bristol but they say "it will showing a lock-down show which will stir your socks....be warned, all contraband will be confiscated at the door"...could there be a clue in that?! :)
The Bristol meeting point will be sent 24hrs before the event. Due to Bristol being 2.5° West and Kampala being 32.5° East this event will be slightly earlier meeting time at 6pm.
Because Kerry will putting on a special children’s screening for lots of our kids and their community. She'll be showing some international children’s classics and some local gems like Katoto in the grounds of the local primary school in the Kikone slums where lots of kids live.
This is a first for us, we're really excited to see how it goes and what possibilities it holds for the future!
