From 10 to 17 October, every donation made will be doubled!

Earlier this week, I shared part of Daphine’s story with you—how you supported her to stay in school.

Today, I'm thrilled to show you another side of her story - how she is giving back as a Peer Leader and HIV Advocate.

With the training from our programmes, Daphine is now empowering other girls in her community.

As a Peer Leader, I value Sexual Health Education. I know it changed my life and the lives of many girls I’ve worked with. I can talk openly about sexual health and girls’ rights—it’s important to hear it from someone you can relate to.”

Keeping girls safe and in school

Young girls find it easy to talk to Daphine. She is confident, warm and knowledgeable. And shares her own life challenges.

Michelle, 14 explains how Daphne helped her "I felt ashamed to speak up when a teacher pressured me for sex in exchange for food, pens and period products. Daphine helped me understand my rights and find my voice. Because of her, I stayed in school and can now support my friends in understanding their health and rights."

Help keep girls safe.

Last year, the Big Give recognised Awamu as an organisation “paving the way to a brighter future for women and girls,” providing us with £2,500 in matched funding. We’re excited to share that this year, due to the impact we’ve achieved, they have increased their matched funding to £5,000!

Mark your calendars please! From 10-17 October, every donation made on our campaign page will be doubled. This means your support will go twice as far in helping girls like Daphine and many others.

I’m deeply grateful for your support.

P.S. Please save the date—10-17 October—when any donation to our campaign page will be doubled! One donation means twice the impact!
