Catch up school has given me hope

Catch up school has given me hope. I had felt useless. The Teachers make us feel we are worth something, we all have something to give. We have found friendship here and we [girls] all support each other. I feel ready and excited to be going back to school now

It’s been a pleasure sitting in on some of the classes and meeting lots of girls in our catch-up school. Girls have been supported to form strong support networks with their peers & Teachers have worked hard to equip girls life skills – like communication, negotiation and critical thinking – skills they need to succeed.

Our catch-up classes have been operating under canvas or in borrowed spaces since February. Our first cohort of 65 girls - who couldn’t return to school after lockdown because of the effects economic and social effects of Covid - will be returning to mainstream school in the next few weeks.

We’re expecting our first classroom (a converted shipping container) for our Community Learning Centre to be delivered in the next few days. We can’t wait to update you on progress.

THANK YOU for making this work possible ❤️
