Be amazing, volunteer

Will you give your time and expertise to change the lives of women and children in the slums of Kampala?

Awamu is unique as all our work (both in the UK and Uganda) is driven by the determination and generosity of volunteers giving their time and expertise, this keeps our overheads to a minimum and reflects our core belief that if we all work together we can change lives.

The orphaned children we help have big ambitions and we are committed to helping them gain the education and skills that will help them take control of their lives and achieve their dreams but we can only do this with your help.

It is an exciting time to join the Awamu team – we need ambitious, talented people to help us reach more women and children. We currently have three exciting roles available:

Trust and Fundraising Research Volunteer: Awamu is looking for an intelligent, proactive and analytical person to join our small team as a Trust Fundraising Research Volunteer; initially the role is to assist Awamu with Trust fundraising research; with potential for the role to develop into further projects at a later date. Finance Volunteer: We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and well organised individual who possesses a good knowledge of finance to provide assistance to our small but  growing  organisation, Awamu, including support for our music event Together. Read role description here.

Social media and communications Volunteer: We’re looking for innovative Social Media and Marketing volunteer/s to help us raise awareness of Awamu’s work, increase public support for our organisation and promote sales from our online shop. Read role description here.
