This is Florence Masuliya the Director of Tusitukirewamu, Awamu's sister organisation in Kampala.
Every day, I witness the incredible challenges girls here face—and the life-changing difference your support makes.
For too many girls in our community, this is their reality: “After lockdown, I lost everything - hope, my safety and education” Nantale, 14.
When schools shut down, it wasn’t just their education they lost.
They lost the safety and security that school provides - a place to learn safely, to dream about their futures. Without it, they become more vulnerable to violence, exploitation, and a future filled with fear and uncertainty.
Now, more than ever, girls like Nantale need your support
People sometimes ask me ‘How do you find the energy to keep going when the challenges can feel so big?’
The truth is, I imagine every girl as if she could be my own sister or daughter.
Imagine her. She’s bright, full of potential and dreaming of a better future. Then suddenly, everything is taken away - her education, her safety, her hope. What would you do to help her?
This is what keeps me focus. And this is why your support matters so much.

£125 (doubled to £250): contributes to school fees for one year
But your generosity doesn’t just provide these resources—it helps restore safety, stability and hope for girls like Nantale.
What would you do for her?
Every girl deserves the chance to feel safe, to learn and to aspire again. It is only with the support of kind donor like you that we can support girls to escape violence and rebuild their futures.

P.S. In Uganda, education is not free. Despite the promise of universal education, the costs of uniforms, supplies and fees mean school is out of reach for too many girls in our community. Without urgent support, girls are left vulnerable to violence and further poverty. Please don’t wait—your donation today will be doubled and can help change their futures.
