It’s back and this time we mean business!

Last year you helped us raise raise an epic £2000 towards our food gardens project – thank you!

This year we need to raise £5000 to complete our project – the biggest costs are for rainwater harvesting points which are vital as families in the slums have to buy water from meter points.

We hope you can help us beat our target and have some fun by joining the challenge too. Let the growing commence!

Who can take part?

The challenge is open to everyone, anywhere in the world including children, adults, families, schools, companies and groups– so get your green fingers into action, claim your sunflower seeds to start growing now.

How do you take part?

Powered by FundRazr

All the money we raise will buy soil, seeds, tools and training so can the women we work with can build gardens and learn how to grow healthy, nutritious food for the children in their care.

You’ll be helping us break down the barriers that stand in the way of children getting the education that is vital to their future as well as being in with a chance at winning the prize for best grower. You can read more about it here.

Once you have your seeds planted please keep us updated on the progress of your flowers by posting your photos and updates on our facebook page or using the hash tag #awamugrowoff on instagram and twitter – we’ll reweet and share your progress with everyone else taking part.

The rules

The final measuring day will be September 11th.

Two winners will be announced: tallest sunflower and widest face sunflower.

Please send a final full-length photo clearly showing the height or width of the sunflower against a measuring tape.

The winner will be announced on September 25th!

Good Luck.
