The fabrics we are using are sort after all over Africa for their high quality cotton and long lasting, super bright colours. Sadly ‘real wax’ prints are becoming harder to find as cheaper copies from China are flooding the market. We fell in love with them on our travels and collected lots of beautiful examples – if all goes well they will be made into dresses, bags and other lovely things by our teams in Kampala.
The fabric is called ‘angel wax’ or ‘veritable real wax’. They are 100% cotton and can be washed at 40 degrees – the more they are washed and worn the softer they get.
We love the way colours are overprinted and often don’t register – it creates amazing patterns. The borders are a key part of their identity and we make sure that they are used within the design of our items wherever possible.
